Blue Fern Landscapes was first founded in 2010 to bring high quality garden design and construction to the Berkshire region – including Reading, Caversham, Wokingham and Pangbourne. We’ve gradually built our reputation as trusted and reliable professionals in all aspects of landscaping, delivering on projects both small and large.
Keeping our team small, we’re able to retain our company ethos of carrying out high quality work, usually from design. Working with private gardens of varying sizes, we are particularly sympathetic to the age and character of the house, creating an outdoor space to fit you and your lifestyle.

John Steiner NCH
John Started landscaping in 2002 in a prestigious private park in Henley–on–Thames for four-and-a-half years learning about plants and the basics of hard landscaping. Between 2004 and 2006 he studied Horticulture and Garden Design, and following on from this joined two prominent hard landscaping companies in the area for a further four years. John set up Blue Fern Landscapes in 2010, cautiously growing the company when required, incorporating the company in 2018. John’s ethos is to, where possible, train his own team, relaying and passing down his own attention to detail, flair and experience. This way he creates team members with experience passed down from his meticulous, quality methods and ways of working, not methods from others. Keeping the team small means his meticulous attention to detail and good customer service does not get lost.
